This is a checklist for assembling and auditing a pack. It is not legal advice and it does not replace the standard — buy the standard.
The pack
- Identity evidence, verified and dated, with who verified it.
- Right to work evidence and the date it was checked.
- Address history for the required period, with evidence for each address.
- Employment and activity history with no unexplained gaps.
- References obtained and verified — verified being the part that is usually missing.
- Financial probity check where the role requires it.
- Criminal record declaration and any disclosure obtained.
- The screener's sign-off, dated, with the outcome recorded.
Gaps
A gap is not a failure. An unexplained gap is. Record the explanation and how it was corroborated, and the pack survives an audit that a silent gap would not.
